Voodoo Girl launched its debut collection in February, and to celebrate BOXPARK invited them to host a pop-up shop at their location in Shoreditch. The launch coincided with the drop of the brands latest collection, Candy Girls which is full of fun and vibrant pieces perfect for summer clubbing and festivals.

The launch party was a great success with many bloggers and stylists popping down to enjoy some cider and popcorn whilst taking a look at the exciting new space. Guests left with goodie bags full of Red Bull, Propercorn, Voodoo dolls and were even treated to pieces from the Candy Girls collection!

Voodoo Girl owners Sam and Ryan chatted to many of the party’s guests about the inspiration behind the collection and how thrilled they were to be a part of the BOXPARK family.

Photographer HarleyMoon Kemp and celebrity stylist Electra Formosa were sent by LOOK magazine to report on the event, check out their video below including an exclusive interview with Sam and Ryan!

The store will run until the end May. Voodoo Girl is available online at www.voodoogirlcouture.co.uk and at ASOS.

The shopping centre partnered with the St Catherines Hospice for the ‘Spring Clothes Throw’ campaign during May. Shoppers are encouraged to spring clean their wardrobes and bring in any unwanted items to the Information Point in the centre. We’ve enlivened an empty unit to help push for donations. For every bag donated shoppers were entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £100 worth of vouchers.

In light of Albert Dock’s 25th anniversary since its regeneration, last week Think launched Gower Street Estates (GSE)‘s Albert Dock: MAKING HISTORY, a campaign that reflects the global significance and impact of Albert Dock and its place in Liverpool’s economic, cultural and social history.

The exciting launch introduced the campaign to local and regional media as well as key stakeholders in the city.

The launch kickstarts a series of activities throughout the year that will engage both local and international visitors to celebrate Albert Dock’s journey from being a world port to an iconic visitor attraction. It will also be the first in a series of campaigns that will lead towards Albert Dock’s historic 175th anniversary in 2021.

From 17 May people are invited to share their memories of the Albert Dock using the interactive web, makinghistory.albertdock.com. Using the app tourists and visitors who have visited the Dock will be globally reunited and memories of their time in Liverpool will be stimulated.

Liverpool ONE’s #IceFestival has been a resounding success with people flocking from far and wide to join the festive fun including some familiar faces.

Lady Jude Cisse and her young sons got into the Christmas spirit when they met Santa in his grotto. The three boys loved the Ice Gallery while Jude seemed to enjoy the Ice Slide and Alpine Ice Rink.

Meanwhile, the cast of Hollyoaks descended on the Ice Rink. Despite the rain, the group sped around the rink and tried their best to stay on their feet before warming up in the Alpine Ice Bar with winter cocktails.

Local and national media loved seeing the celebrity skaters and the pictures were used on the MailOnline as well as Liverpool Echo.

Two of the region’s most recognisable charities became one on 1st November 2012. North West Cancer Research Fund (NWCRF) and Clatterbridge Cancer Research (CCR) officially came together to form North West Cancer Research Incorporating Clatterbridge Cancer Research.

By combining both charities North West Cancer Research is now one of the biggest and most influential charities in the North West. With its increased strength and size it will lead the way in understanding and ultimately fighting cancer with world-class research.

Think developed the communications strategy to manage the merger and ensure the messages were clearly expressed to the charity’s key audiences. The team then arranged media visits to the research centres at the Universities of Bangor and Lancaster. BBC Wales broadcast a report on the studies funded by the charity while BBC Radio Lancashire interviewed leading scientists at Lancaster University. The trips were also covered in local newspapers so the local community can see the work being done on their doorstep.

2012 was the year of the pop-up shop. In November, we welcomed Laura’s Little Bakery, Dot Art and Strange Case Collective to Cavern Walks. The three retailers called the shopping centre home for six weeks and enjoyed a roaring trade in the run up to Christmas.

Cavern Walks held three pop-up style events in the lead up to Christmas hosted by some of our favourite magazines. The launch weekend saw Now Magazine’s Style Editor, Alison Tay, offering style advice to local fashionistas during one-on-one meet and greets. Alison also styled one lucky competition winner at Boudoir Boutique.

The Collective Magazine and His & Hers magazine popped up too, with their brand new issues, goodies and fashion advice for Christmas shoppers. Local style setters were snapped for the fashion pages of both magazines so keep your eyes peeled for future issues of to see coverage of the events.
