At 9.30 this morning Sea Odyssey’s 30 ft Little Girl Giant and her 9ft dog Xolo woke up at Stanley Park in Anfield, signalling the start of the first ever festival in the north of the city.
The three day event, running until 8pm Sunday 22nd April, is set to entertain the whole family, with live music, a fun fair and food and drink stands. Live football will be shown on a large screen in the football quarter while local acts perform on stage in the community quarter.
On Saturday, the highly anticipated Uncle Giant, part of the Sea Odyssey, will also entertain festival goers and provides an opportunity to get up close to the Giant Spectacular.
Stanley Park is located between Everton and Liverpool Football clubs and underwent a huge restoration project and reopening in 2009. The festival is supported by Liverpool City Council it is hoped that this will be the first of many events in the area.
