Ever wish you could try 65 different cakes, biscuits and patisseries all in the name of a good cause? Well that dream came true for TV presenter Cherry Healey and Masterchef: The Professionals winner Claire Lara – judges of North West Cancer Research Fund’s O-Very Cake Bake.
The competition was launched to raise funds and awareness about ovarian cancer, the UK’s biggest gynaecological killer affecting 7,000 women each year and killing one woman every two hours. Entries included a country garden carrot cake complete with vegetables, picnic table and fencing made from fondant icing, a six-tiered rainbow cake and numerous bakewell tarts created in honour of Cherry.
Over £500 was raised throughout the day and a jolly good time was had by all.
